# Setting Up Metamask

1. Download the Metamask  Extension by navigating to: <https://metamask.io/download/>\
   Then Select the appropriate browser and Click the blue Install button in this case:\
   "Install MetaMask for Chrome"<br>

2. Download and install the extension, we are using chrome browser so for us we added the extension to chrome by clicking "add to chrome"<br>

3. &#x20;Upon Clicking Add to chrome the installation will start and complete.\
   At which point metamask should add an icon to your extensions:\

   and self open the following window for you to configure Metamask.<br>

4. Click I agree to the Terms and Conditions, then Select: "Create a new wallet"\ <br>

5. Either agree or select No thanks then you will be prompted to create a password:<br>

   Each time you open Metamask after logging out of or restarting your computer you will need this password, so be sure you remember it.

6. After you create a new wallet be sure to back up your seed phrase by following the prompts, Two Golden rules:\
   \- **IF YOU LOOSE OR FORGET YOUR SEED PHRASE IT CANT BE RECOVERED,**\
   \- **DO NOT SHARE YOUR SEED PHRASE WITH ANYONE**\
   \
   Remember Crypto is not a bank, there is no support you are on your own.\
   \
   "With great power, comes great responsibility"

7. After you have completed the prompts you are good to go be sure to pin the metamask extension to your top bar!
